In 1982, Sweet Comfort Band put out Cutting Edge, their fifth of six albums released by 1984, and before their reunion in 2013.
Sweet Comfort featured Bryan Duncan on vocals and as a driving creative force. During the band’s hiatus, Bryan released over a dozen solo albums that are staples of the CCM genre.
Cutting Edge has a lot of current sound to it for 1982. It’s more Styx than Supertramp, and a lot less jazz funk than their early work. Songs like “Armed and Ready” are solid radio-ready rock tunes.
One of the better SCB albums, IMO.
