Robin Lane & The Chartbusters – 5 Live – 1980

This 5 track EP came out in support of their self titled EP earlier in the year but strangely it only has one track from that album. It is 5 live tracks from what I assume was the tour to support their debut album.

The highlight of the album for me was a very punk sounding version of “Shakin All Over”.

Track Listing:
1 – When Things Go Wrong – 3:35
2 – Lost My Mind – 2:35
3 – When You Compromise – 3:20
4 – 8.3 – 4:30
5 – Shakin All Over – 3:12

Robin Lane & The Chartbusters – (self titled) – 1980

This was the first album from Robin Lane & The Chartbusters. Robin Lane worked the coffee houses and folk clubs in her teens making a good name for herself.

In brushes with greatness she was actually married to future Police lead guitarist Andy Summers from 1968 to 1970. After some label bouncing she finally got her first album out as “Robin Lane & The Chartbusters” on Warner Brothers Records.

The album was well received and the singles “When Things Go Wrong” and “Why Do You Tell Lies?” had very heavy airplay.

Point of trivia, the music video for “When Things Go Wrong” was the 11th video shown on MTV’s first broadcast day.

Track Listing:
1 – When Things Go Wrong – 3:15
2 – It’ll Only Hurt A Little While – 3:14
3 – Don’t Cry – 3:26
4 – Without You – 3:12
5 – Why Do You Tell Lies – 2:57
6 – I Don’t Want To Know – 3:01
7 – Many Years Ago – 3:33
8 – Waitin’ In Line – 3:18
9 – Be Mine Tonight – 4:25
10 – Kathy Lee – 3:28
11 – Don’t Wait Till Tomorrow – 3:32
