This is an interesting project from Randy but not for the music as much as for who was the band. Rob Watson and Tim Chandler from DA are here as well as Rick Elias and drums were handled by long time LA studio musician David Raven. That’s quite the band and you can hear all their influences through the album. This album has in my opinion some of Randy’s best writing though with so many albums that’s kind of a silly thing to say. Strangely the album didn’t have a CCM single but then again while Randy indeed did have CCM singles he had very few considering the volume of his work. The CCM charts never really supported Randy’s work.

Such a great album! The lyrics was spot on for culture and issues of 1992. It is one of my favorite sounding Randy albums – so creative. And the whole thing – lyrics, production, arrangements, artwork – makes for one of the most complete artistically complete projects from that era in my opinion.
Side note: in 2013 came to Lancaster Ohio to play for an elementary after a 4th grade teacher had used “ Rachel Delevoryas” in an antibullyimg campaign. Later that night Randy played at a local church.
I am a big fan of this album but also have some deep seeded issues with it. First of all Stonehill still performs Great Big Stupid World and the better satiric song of the same cloth Stop the World is all but forgotten. On a similar vein 4 songs from this album were covered on the Randy Stonehill 50 year anniversary project There’s A Rainbow somewhere and there’s a grand total of zero songs covered from 2 of my favorite Stonehill albums Equator, and Celebrate This Heartbeat. Celebrate this Heartbeat would have been a great name for the retrospective. I have a few more(deep seeded issues), but then you may not believe how much I truly love the album and for that matter the 50th anniversary album.
