Len Magee – Len Magee – 1973

Len Magee actually has very interesting back story. He was born in London. When he was 4 his father died and his mother ended up unable to take care of the children. At the age of 6 he was sent to an orphanage in Australia, a practise I had never even heard of before. Life in Australia was not good for him and I’m phrasing it politely. It was essentially a farm labor job disguised as a orphanage. At 17 Len left the house and began work with the railway and his life headed exactly where you think it would head. Keith ended up drifting around the country playing pub talent nights. On a hitchhiking trip to Sydney he was picked up by a Christian who ministered to him but it didn’t quite catch. After many more nights of debauchery Len hunted down the man who ministered to him and found him. This led to his salvation. Len still struggled with Christianity but the seeds were sown. He returned to England and there he started to finally understand Christianity. Len felt God’s call on his life and enrolled at Elim Bible College. At college he became involved with music ministry and eventually recorded this album. I really can not tell his story properly and I suggest you hunt down one of many interviews with Len and give it a listen or read. His story is well worth hearing. I apologize for the brief version of the story but really I’m not a good enough writer to tell the story properly.
