The Technos – Songs For A Nervous World – 1988

The Technos actually started out as the Techno Twins in the secular market. They released their first album in 1982 with the single “Falling in love again” which did very well in the European market. The band is generally credited with being the origin of the term “techno” which is something to be proud of. It’s pretty cool when your band name becomes a international term for a style of music. Anyway, after a couple of fairly successful secular releases they put out this one and only Christian release. It is actually a little different in that the songs are social/political oriented and they touch on subjects that weren’t often touched on by Christian artists. I don’t know if this was a popular album or not but I really like it.

The Techno Orchestra – Casualtease – 1982

Bev and Steve are back with another album and another band name. I really don’t understand why they felt it was necessary to have a slightly different name every album. Oh well anyway I think I know what they were thinking for this album. It has several experimental tracks and I think that’s what they were aiming for further demonstrated by the fact they didn’t release any tracks as a singles. While I don’t like it as much as their other work it’s still good and I enjoyed it.

The Technos – Foreign Land – 1985

1985 came with a new name for The Techno Twins to simply The Technos. It seems like Steve and Bev were never happy with their band name as they were constantly changing it. The name may have changed but the sound is the same with a keyboard heavy pop sound. This was a doubt their most successful album with the single “Foreign Land” produced by Joe Glasman reaching the top 10 of the US Hot Dance Club Play chart. They also released a few version of Foreign Land with an extended and also a Dub mix. We’ll be sure to upload those too. Anyway this is the Techno album you need to hear as it’s probably their best work.
